Used for security, session handling for signed-in editors, and remembering your preferences. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics (opt-in)
Nothing that measures readership runs until you opt in. With your consent we record cookie-less, first-party page views (no IP addresses, no user agents, per-tab session only) and, where configured, Google Analytics 4 in IP-anonymised mode. Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals are treated as a standing refusal.
Marketing and Google tags
Google Tag Manager loads only after consent. We implement Google Consent Mode v2: advertising storage (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) and analytics storage default to denied and are updated only to reflect the choice you make in the banner or preferences dialog.
