Alkagesta entered Singapore in 2025 as one more trading house in a crowded port — until the model it brought set it apart. The hub, Alkagesta Asia Pte Ltd, offered Asian counterparties something specific: European-standard structuring and compliance, delivered locally.

For regional buyers and sellers, that meant transactions secured by letters of credit and insurance through 28 international banks, with every vessel and counterparty screened under KYC/AML rules and a zero-tolerance sanctions policy. Fintech News Singapore reported that this discipline was the reason Singapore, with its strong legal framework, was chosen as the base.

In return, Singapore gave Alkagesta access to the largest commodity ecosystem in Asia. CEO Orkhan Rustamov called it the place "where Asian markets converge with global capital." IPS News quoted board member Pierre Gay describing Singapore as "a test of credibility" — a test the hub passed on volume.

Ship & Bunker reported 160,000 MT in November 2025 and 180,000 MT in December, with a 250,000 MT monthly target.

ScandAsia framed the exchange as a structured bridge: Asian growth, European governance, one integrated network from Malta through London, Geneva and Dubai to Singapore.

The team worked the port in person, as shown in Alkagesta at Horizon Terminal Singapore, Jurong Island.
