Alkagesta attended the GTR Asia 2026 conference held in Singapore from 8 to 9 September 2026, as reported by Alkagesta. The event served as a forum for professionals within the trade, commodity finance, and supply chain sectors to discuss factors influencing global trade. More than 100 speakers addressed the gathering, which attracted senior decision-makers from the fintech, treasury, and commodity finance industries. The company utilised the platform to interact with various financial institutions and industry stakeholders from Asia and other international markets to discuss potential strategic collaborations and financing arrangements.

The company was represented at the conference by Tural Huseynov and Asad Huseynov, who serve as Managing Directors for Investments and Asset Management. These discussions with banking partners and financial entities highlighted the growing importance of Singapore to the firm's broader commercial strategy. Since the establishment of Alkagesta Asia Pte in July 2025, the organisation has significantly expanded its footprint in the region, positioning the city-state as a primary hub within its international trading network. This development reflects the firm's focus on strengthening its presence in key Asian markets through targeted investment and asset management initiatives.

Operational growth in the region has been marked by a substantial increase in marine fuel distribution. Alkagesta Asia currently manages monthly volumes ranging from 200,000 to 250,000 metric tonnes. These activities are supported by secured storage capacity located at Horizon Terminal. Furthermore, the firm has developed a naphtha arbitrage book that bridges European supply infrastructure with demand centres across Asia. This logistical integration underscores the company's efforts to scale its regional operations effectively. The GTR Asia event provided a venue for the firm to reinforce existing banking relationships and explore new opportunities for financing its ongoing trade activities.
