A leading Asian bunkering hub has made electronic bunker delivery notes the standard for all licensed suppliers, the port authority announced, completing a phased transition from paper documentation.
The digital notes integrate with mass flow metering data and provide buyers with time-stamped records of delivered quantity and declared fuel specifications.
The authority said the move is expected to reduce disputes and streamline audits, while providing a foundation for future emissions reporting requirements.
Suppliers and shipowners have broadly welcomed the change, according to industry association statements.
The hub is among the world's largest by bunker sales volume.
